Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs: The Gospel in Appalachian Music Berkeley Center for the Arts • Goose Creek, SC The concert is presented to the public through support from the Sacred Winds Foundation.
Kentucky-based composer, James Curnow, will be in residence with the Sacred Winds Ensemble as Composer-In-Residence and Guest Conductor. Mr. Curnow will be conducting his composition, “Rhapsody on American Shape Note Melodies” which features well-known shape note tunes such as Pisgah, Avon (The Penitent’s Prayer), Bozrah, and Consolation.
As part of the 2012 Summer Tour, the Sacred Winds Ensemble will be providing music education outreach to middle school and high school instrumental music students in the Charleston area.
