2024 Summer Program: “Knowing God”

The Sacred Winds Ensemble continues their Great Christian Books series by exploring JI Packer’s Knowing God. The concert will feature works by James Curnow, John Mackey, John Gibson, Keith Getty, Laura Story, Adolphus Hailstork, and John Gibson. The program, in part, will be comprised of the familiar hymns Amazing Grace and A Mighty Fortress Is Our God, as well as the contemporary songs Come Unto JesusThe Lord Almighty Reigns, and Total Praise. The program guide may be viewed at this link: SacredWindsProgram2024.

The ensemble is delighted to welcome guest conductor, Dr. Richard Miles, who will conduct Lamb of God by John Gillingham. This powerful work portrays the trial, death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ in a gripping aural spectrum of sound.

The concert will be presented at Grace Baptist Church (340 Oak Leaf Lane, Somerset, KY) on June 9 beginning at 6:00 PM. Reserve your seats today.

God has spoken to man, and the Bible is his Word, given to us to make us wise unto salvation. God is Lord and King over his world; he rules all things for his own glory, displaying his perfections in all that he does, in order that men and angels may worship and adore him.

Rejouissance by James Curnow

Aurora Awakes by John Mackey

God is Savior, active in sovereign love through the Lord Jesus Christ to rescue believers from the guilt and power of sin, to adopt them as his children and to bless them accordingly.

Lamb of God David by Gillingham | Richard B. Miles, conductor

Power of the Cross by Keith Getty & Stuart Townend

God is triune; there are within the Godhead three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and the work of salvation is one in which all three act together, the Father purposing redemption, the Son securing it, and the Spirit applying it.

Resting in the Peace of His Hands by John Gibson

Come Unto Jesus by Matt Merker, Laura Story, & Jordan Kauflin

Amazing Grace by Adolphus Hailstork

Godliness means responding to God’s revelation in trust and obedience, faith and worship, prayer and praise, submission and service. Life must be seen and lived in the light of God’s Word. This, and nothing else, is true religion.

Total Praise by Richard Smallwood
