David Centers Appointed as Vice President of Sacred Winds Ministries

Vice PresidentSacred Winds Ministries is pleased to announce the appointment of David Centers as Vice President. The Sacred Winds Board of Directors appointed Mr. Centers as Vice President in February after former Vice President Daniel Thies stepped down from the position. “We are thankful for the work Daniel Thies has provided Sacred Winds, and we look forward to his continued service within the ministry,” said Scott Bersaglia, President of Sacred Winds Ministries.

David, who is a native of Winchester, Kentucky, attended the University of Louisville, where he studied Music Education and Civil Engineering, graduating with highest honors. A consummate euphonium player, he has performed with the Derby City Brass Band, Louisville Concert Band, Sacred Winds Ensemble, President Lincoln’s Own Band, and the Derby City Tuba Quartet (a two-time NABBA small ensemble national champion). He was also a finalist in auditions with the “President’s Own” United States Marine Band and the Washington D.C. based Air Force Band.  David is an exceptional teacher, garnering recognition for his work on both state and national levels.  He currently serves as Director of Bands at Central Hardin High School in Cecilia, KY where his bands have received distinguished ratings at numerous festivals and contests.

Commenting on Centers’ acceptance of the position, Dr. Bersaglia noted the qualities that will serve Centers well in this role: “I am delighted that David has accepted the call as Vice President for Sacred Winds Ministries. In looking at recent outreach opportunities the ministry has pursued, and considering the ministry’s new partnerships with local churches, we knew Mr. Centers would be the right choice in this time of expansion.  His character and devotion to God within his home, family, and vocation, as well as the many talents he possesses, give great testimony of God’s grace and David’s diligence in service to his Savior. As a member of the Sacred Winds Ensemble, his witness will be a strong example to the ensemble members and the ministry body.  I am honored to stand alongside him in service for the Gospel.”

Mr. Centers currently resides in Louisville, Kentucky with Staci, his wife of seventeen years, and their two children, Noah and Hannah. He is a member and deacon at Okolona Christian Church, where he serves in the live video production studio and church orchestra.
