Aside from the friendship, it is one of the few times a year (if only time) I get to play just for the love of it and not to pay a bill. It’s easy to forget that we all started as musicians because we enjoyed it, not because we we’re going to be rich. It never feels quite as good to play as it does as a member of Sacred Winds.
I can’t believe I’ve been playing with the group for 10 years now! It seems so long ago that I had that conversation with Scott at KMEA about this “amazing group” he conducts in the summers. I am truly blessed and honored to be a member of this group and hope that I will be able to play with all of my friends for years to come.
